![]() Speaking of combat… Sea of Stars knows that any modern JRPG worth its weight has to come up with a unique spin on how players and enemies dish out attacks it’s no longer enough for characters to batter each other according to the agreed-upon turn order. Zale or Valere are warrior monks, but that doesn’t mean the game is without moves that lean more into the futuristic and technical, as well as the mystical. Whereas the latter very much plays it safe by taking place in a high fantasy world, Sabotage Studio’s title presents characters and a location that has fantastical elements, sure, yet opts for a setting very much all its own. Much like Bethesda’s title, it’s an RPG that launched into Xbox Game Pass on day one, though it’s of a very different breed and a much smaller scale. ![]() Wonder on your Nintendo Switch or Assassin’s Creed Mirage on your Xbox Series X|S, there’s another proper gem I’ve been enjoying a lot. But before you load Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 up on your PS5, Super Mario Bros. The calm before the storm is now over Starfield has arrived, and we are about to be treated to an unprecedented avalanche of AAA blockbuster titles. The latest game from The Messenger developer Sabotage Studio is a very different, but equally as brilliant throwback to a classic video game genre.
